What is a forever gift?
A forever gift is a gift left in your will to a specific beneficiary. A will ensures your wishes are respected and that those you want to benefit will receive your support. Your will is a lasting gift – to your loved ones and to future generations.
We understand that making a will is a deeply personal decision. Once you’ve provided for those closest to you, you may wish to consider including a gift to Merrigong Theatre Company.
How do I make one?
First step is to speak to your legal advisor, who can guide you on preparing a will to incorporate your wishes, or adding a codicil to an existing will to include Merrigong. We are also happy to meet with you beforehand to ensure any conditions are relevant, useful, and enduring.
A forever gift can be made in a number of ways, including:
- A specific asset (shares, property, jewellery, art etc)
- A specified sum of money
- A portion or percentage of an estate
- A life insurance policy
Leaving a forever gift to Merrigong Theatre Company
You can choose for your gift to be used in support of a specific program or to be left ‘unencumbered’ to be used by Merrigong as guided by our Board.
The following clause is an example (intended as a guide only), and may assist your legal advisor in the preparation of your will:
‘I give to Merrigong Theatre Company ABN 87590935138 (Specific amount or percentage of estate or describe property or other assets) for use and benefit of Merrigong Theatre Company for its general purposes and I direct that a receipt from them shall be sufficient discharge of such a gift.’
