About

Robbie Curtis is an acrobat and dancer,  who has for the past 10 years been performing, teaching and choreographing both nationally and internationally. He has worked with Cirque du Soleil, CIRCA, Circus Oz, Legs on the Wall, Cirque de Paname, the Australian Ballet, Australian Opera, Theatre of Image, Shaun Parker Co and Footnote Dance Company along with the Wollongong based Circus Monoxide. Internationally recognised for his mix of dance and circus, Robbie has also been an artistic consultant for the National Institute of Circus Arts.

When he’s not on tour Robbie resides in Wollongong where he grew up, attending Wollongong Performing Arts High School.

Artist Statement

A Bee Story is a unique physical theatre show for children and families, about working together when it comes to environmental management and sustainability. The show will bring together elements of circus, acrobatics, dance and live music to tell the story of Queen Bee and Worker Bee, who become separated from the hive and must work together to re-build and adapt to a changing environment. The subject matter and physical development will be advised by industry experts in the both the fields of sustainability and performance, to create an entertaining and educational show to appeal to children. Robbie Curtis is accompanied by performer Lizzie Mcrae as Queen Bee.
