We’re excited to welcome Lillie, Merrigong’s First Nations Program Emerging Producer!

Lillie Paton is a proud descendant of Ngunawal people and grew up on Gundungarra Country. Lillie moved to the Illawarra in 2019 to study at UOW and fell in love with the community and the magical landscapes that enclose us here on the coast. Completing a double degree in Creative Arts and Media Communication, she combined her passions for photography, writing and storytelling.

Passionate about storytelling – especially the way it evolves when different forms of media come together to create something new, Lillie is drawn to the power of personal experiences and how they shape the stories we tell. “There’s something deeply comforting about finding connection through shared experiences and knowledge” says Lillie.

She is most excited to work on bringing more First Nations stories to the stage – stories that deserve to be heard, celebrated, and shared. Lillie is passionate about creating a space where the community feels safe to contribute, listen, and connect. Theatre has the power to educate and inspire and she looks forward to sharing stories that not only reflect the experiences of First Nations people but also offer the wider community an opportunity to learn and grow together.
