Pa-Paw

Sun 22 Nov

Jazz, neo-soul, reggae and funk blended by three humble souls.

These childhood friends from the south-coast of Sydney make music together, inspired by their shared collective experience and love for music which suffuses soul and rhythm. Lucy Clifford (bass), Freyja Garbett (keyboards/synth) and Jodie Michael (drums) are alumni of not only the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music in their formative years, but also all alumni of the Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA.

After soaking up the essence of the African-American musical canon through the incredible opportunities of mentorship provided to them through their life’s work of musical study, they masterfully blend jazz improvisation, hip-hop, neo-soul, afrobeat, reggae and funk into their own cohesive style.

Pa-Paw can be best described with a simple statement: music spreads love.
