Jazz in the true tradition: creative improvisation & masterful technique.

The Michelle Nicolle Quartet celebrates their 21st birthday in 2019 and as part of their career retrospective tour, the award-winning group will make a stop in Wollongong to allow you to join in the festivities.

Recipients of the 2017 Bell Australian Jazz Award for Vocal Album of the Year, the quartet are regarded as one of the finest and most prolific jazz ensembles in the Nation. Led by renowned vocalist Michelle Nicolle (1998 National Jazz Award winner) the band features long-term collaborators guitarist Geoff Hughes, Tom Lee on bass and drummer Ronny Farella.

Together, they lovingly explore music with a totally contemporary and forward thinking approach that at the same time is steeped in the rich tradition of jazz. The quartet has produced eight critically acclaimed albums and has performed throughout Australia, Asia and Europe with highlights including sets at the famed North Sea and Tokyo Jazz Festivals.
