Jan Preston and Don Hopkins

Fri 31 May

The good-time, barrelhouse, boogie-woogie fun of a blues party.

Jan Preston is a knockout boogie pianist with a rich resonant voice. She has captured audiences around the world with her originality, her energy, and her sparkling charm. Joining her, will be Don Hopkins, a man who has been an influential part of Sydney’s blues scene since the 1970s, taking his New Orleans piano styles to singing and dancing audiences around the world.

Jan has sold out concerts throughout Australia, NZ, Europe and the UK, composes music for film and TV, and performs side by side with the greatest contemporary boogie piano players in the world today.

Don was inducted into the Australian Blues Music Festival’s Blues Walk Of Fame in Goulburn in 2002 and his repertoire draws from the rich vein of blues and jazz of the 1920s and 30s through to the R&B, soul and gospel sounds of the 1950s and 60s.
