All women are welcome!  Tickets are limited!

  • Cultural dance and entertainment
  • Children’s break out room and play space

This is an event exclusively for women.

Event Background

In 2021, Illawarra community leader, Margaret Biggs connected with Rosemary Kariuki, advocate for migrant and refugee women and Australian of the Year – Local Hero 2021. Margaret was inspired to introduce this event in Wollongong and brought together like-minded individuals and organisations to establish the Illawarra Women’s Day of Dance and Culture.

Healthy Cities Illawarra (HCI), a not for profit health promotion organisation sponsored the inaugural event in 2022, and together with community partners such as Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra/SCARF Refugee Support, Edmund Rice College and Rotary Club Fairy Meadow has established this as an annual event.

Our aim is to build a socially inclusive Illawarra, and support women’s health and wellbeing.

We’re committed to delivering safe & enjoyable performing arts experiences.
