Dave Panichi Septet

Fri 27 Sep

An all-star septet led by a virtuoso trombonist.

Virtuoso trombonist Dave Panichi is an internationally respected soloist and session player and is widely considered to be one of Australia’s finest composers and arrangers. While distinctively Australian, Dave’s music pays full respect to the jazz tradition and is infused with the rich flavours and modern influences of the two decades he spent living and working in New York alongside the world’s leading musicians.

A long-time member of such legendary groups as The Buddy Rich Big Band and Blood Sweat & Tears, Panichi has played with a long list of music icons as a top call sideman, including Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli.

For this performance, Panichi has assembled an all-star septet consisting of some of the nation’s top jazz musicians to play a selection of his renowned compositions and arrangements.

Please note: Jeremy Rose will now be playing saxophone.
