Supporting Independent Artists
The Merrigong Theatre Development Program was initiated in 2006 to foster the work of local emerging and established artists. The Program supports local independent projects as well as The Vault Cabarets in Port Kembla, Treasures from the Vault at IPAC, workshops, and Ruff! New Works in Progress.
Independent ARTISTS Program
Throughout 2012, Merrigong opens its doors to independent producers, presenting new innovative works from local independent artists/groups. Come and see challenging and exciting new performance work made here in the Illawarra.
THEATRE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Program aims to foster professional theatre practice in the region by providing an identifiable and achievable path of development for emerging and established artists. Artists can apply for support to develop an idea to its first showing (for example a play reading) or to extend an idea through a dedicated development process (such as a script development or devising workshop).
Projects can take place at any time of the year. Deadlines for applications in 2012 to be advised.
For more information on how to apply, contact Anne-Louise Rentell, Artistic Associate on either (02) 4224 5910 or arentell@merrigong.com.au.
