School Holiday's at Merrigong presents

Workshop: Make a sock puppet sing!

School Holiday Workshop with Imogen Ross

Introduction to basic puppet and prop making for young designers aged 6 - 8 years old.

06 Jul – 06 Jul

Do you like creating things and using up-cycled materials?

Do you like puppetry and making up silly songs?

Then ‘Make a Sock Puppet Sing’ is the perfect workshop for YOU!

Using a range of different textile accessories to make eyes, tongues, ears, tails, hair, hats and props, award winning designer theatre designer Imogen Ross (Diary of a Wombat, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie) will help young puppeteers create original sock puppet characters with oodles of personality.

Working together, the group will script simple stories using their puppets, helping each other to develop character voices and silly songs.

Students are asked to bring along a clean pair of socks (colours and stripes are great, plain is fine) and their imagination.

Hot glues, fabric glues and paint will be used during the workshop – please wear clothing that can cope with mess.

Maximum size of 12 students.
