A Circa & Merrigong Theatre Company co-production

Landscape with Monsters

Created by Yaron Lifschitz and the Circa Ensemble

Our breathtakingly original circus-theatre creation returns for one night only!

23 Sep – 23 Sep

If you missed it the first time, or want to relive this magical experience, here’s your chance.

In 2016, right here in Wollongong, Merrigong and Circa forged a new type of circus, and now it’s being seen around the world. In Landscape with Monsters there are no traditional circus acts, no trapezes and not a red nose in sight. Instead, from a world of simple wooden boxes, a hard floor and tall metal structures, the meeting between ourselves and our environment is thrillingly brought to life.

In this telling of the story of the transforming of our industrial city, metal and wooden objects intersect with fast-paced acrobatics. This intensely physical show is at once humorous and brutal, savage and beautiful.

Set to a soundtrack of popular songs and electronic music, Landscape with Monsters is bursting with the thrills that are the hallmarks of Circa performances. Don’t miss it in its strictly limited return season as part of an extensive Australian tour.
