19 Apr – 19 Apr
Suitable for 15 -18 year olds (20 maximum)
Want to feel empowered by just how creative you can be?
Are you interested in set design and have wondered how the design of a set is being conceived and realised?
This fascinating and informative workshop is an introduction to set design for young people. International set and costume designer Katja Handt will guide participants through the role and process of the set designer. They will learn how to translate a text into images and then how to transform those images into a 3D space whilst getting a personal insight into the world of theatre and big budget film productions.
Students will do a number of practical and fun exercises to explore the tools of the set designer, including the visual analysis of a text, scale drawing and model making.
A great opportunity for those considering taking their interest in set design to the next level and a must for students who are planning to choose set design for their drama project or career.
