04 Jul – 04 Jul
Want to feel empowered by just how creative you can be?
Are you interested in costume design and have wondered how to design and create costumes for theatre and film?
This fascinating and informative workshop is an introduction to costume design for young people. International costume designer and costume artist Katja Handt will guide participants through the role and process of the costume designer. They will learn how to translate a text into images and then transform those images into costumes for performers whilst getting a personal insight into the world of theatre and big budget film productions.
Students will do a number of practical and fun exercises including the development of a colour palette, the importance of line and silhouette to express character and the difference between designing for a live audience and for camera.
A great opportunity for those considering taking their interest in costume design to the next level and a must for those planning to choose costume design for their drama project or professional career.
Maximum of 20 students.
