With Special Guests Imogen Clark and Timothy James Bowen
Australian-born, US-based singer-songwriter-actress, Clare Bowen, will return home to perform at Wollongong Town Hall as part of her 2018 Australian Tour.
29 Sep – 29 Sep
Born in Minnamurra in the Illawarra and a University of Wollongong Performance Graduate, Clare returns home for her third headline tour, after releasing her much anticipated self-titled debut album, and finishing filming the sixth and final season of Nashville.
Years before launching her career as an actor and singer-songwriter, a young Clare Bowen was growing up in the Illawarra region, writing down everything she felt, heard, saw and dreamed. “Music was my connection to the rest of the world,” she says. “I was brought up on my parents’ vinyl collection - everything from Vivaldi, to Elvis, to Dolly, to Springsteen, Edith Piaf and Etta James.”
With a ferocious live show, Clare will perform a collection of Nashville favourites and originals, including songs from her forthcoming debut self-titled album due for release on September 21.
Rising stars Imogen Clark and Timothy James Bowen will join her on her national homecoming theatre tour.
Imogen has received multiple 2018 CMC Award nominations, including Best New Artist, Best Video, and Female Artist of the Year, with four consecutive singles reaching No.1 on the CMC Top 50 chart.
Local road warrior Timothy James Bowen is no stranger to touring with his sister Clare, having warmed audiences on her last two Australian tours. The past 18-months have seen Timothy release two EP’s, embark on multiple national Australian tours, and perform cameo appearances at some of the world’s premiere music venues including Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.
“Clare Bowen is as mesmerising onstage as she is on-screen and brings a very poignant, personal touch to her performance” – The Music
“The most magical thing about Clare is how she becomes the music - her body vibrates, she becomes swallowed up by the sound and the emotion - and it was transfixing to watch. After hearing her, you remember what it means to be alive.” – Scenestr
