In his first ever visit to Australia, blues royalty AJ Ghent, brings his hip-shaking, finger snapping, head nodding sounds of rock, blues, funk and pop to The Music Lounge stage.

AJ Ghent has been one of the best kept secrets in U.S music scene for a couple years, and we are incredibly excited to have him bring his ‘Neo Blues’ to The Music Lounge stage for one night only on 1 March.

AJ Ghent's style can be defined as fresh, nostalgic, electrifying and roots rock - fusing blues, funk, rock, and pop, mashing it into a genre he likes to call, NEO BLUES.

AJ Ghent’s family is basically lap-steel royalty. His great uncle Willie Eason and grandfather Henry Nelson helped establish the “sacred steel” tradition of using the lap-steel guitar in church services, and his father Aubrey Ghent continued and expanded the tradition, eventually passing it down to AJ.

The energy and passion which resonates from AJ’s music, from the strum of the guitar and the conviction of the vocals, the pounding rhythm of the drums, to the thought provoking lyrics, is sure to be felt by any crowd. AJ aims to create an unforgettable experience for music lovers, with the hopes of taking them to a musical paradise. AJ Ghent constructs a musical sound that can be heard howling from the church to the streets to the clubs.
