Kids, Schools & Families

Merrigong Theatre Company provides a range of family-friendly experiences and events perfect for school excursions! Our program is packed to the brim with shows that will thrill, fascinate, entertain, enlighten, involve and delight kids of all ages. Each school day matinee includes a post-show Q&A session to give fascinating insights into the creative process. We invite kids, schools and families in and around the Illawarra to come in, explore the venue, experience professional high quality theatre and engage with a range of other educational activities. We look forward to seeing you throughout the year!

For school group bookings, please download and print the booking request form, fill it in and fax to the Artistic and Community Projects Co-ordinator on (02) 4226 9696.

Teacher Resources
Teachers notes are available for shows with a school day matinee performance. These can be emailed or posted upon request.

Backstage Tours
Half-hour fully guided backstage tours for school groups can be arranged by contacting the Artistic and Community Projects Co-ordinator.

Passport To Performance
We believe that all students should enjoy the experience of professional live theatre and we do our best to keep the cost as low as possible. Passport To Performance is a program that provides school students with the opportunity to attend a selection of performances by subsidising some of the associated costs, such as tickets and transport. Schools nominated by the NSW Department of Education for inclusion in the Priority School Program are eligible to apply. Funding is limited and allocated on a first-come first-served basis. To apply for assistance, please contact the Artistic and Community Projects Co-ordinator.
